QR This Page Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026. Publisher: Ataraxy Developers. Applies to QR This Page version 1.0.0.

Local processing

QR This Page generates QR codes entirely in your browser using bundled code. The extension does not send URLs, selected text, typed content, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, Wi-Fi network names or passwords, or generated images to Ataraxy Developers or any server. It has no backend, external QR API, remote scripts, analytics, advertising, account, or login.

Information used

When you open the extension, Chrome may provide the active tab's URL and title. Right-click actions use the page URL, chosen link, or selected text. Other QR types use information you enter. Wi-Fi passwords are processed locally and encoded in the QR image; anyone who scans or receives that image can read those credentials.

Retention

There is no QR history or persistent settings storage. Content remains in the open extension view's memory until it closes. A right-click request is held temporarily in service-worker memory, consumed when the QR view opens, and expires after 60 seconds or earlier when Chrome stops the worker. It is not placed in navigation URLs or browser storage. Form fields are cleared after successful generation. The generated payload remains available in that view for export or copying.

Downloads and clipboard

PNG and SVG files are created locally when you request them. Downloaded files remain on your device until you remove them. Copy actions put the image or encoded content on your system clipboard. Your operating system, clipboard history/sync settings, and apps you paste into control any subsequent retention or sharing. The extension does not read your clipboard.

Permissions

activeTab permits temporary access to the current tab URL and title when you invoke the extension. contextMenus provides page, link and selection actions. clipboardWrite enables copying QR images or content on request. The extension requests no broad website access, content injection, browsing-history, downloads, or storage permission.

Sharing and external links

Ataraxy Developers does not collect browsing history through this extension, sell personal information, or transfer QR content. Website and support links open only when you choose them. Those destinations and any email you send are outside the extension's local processing and follow their own policies. Do not send sensitive QR content when requesting support.

Limited Use

QR This Page complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to generate and let you copy or export the QR codes you request. It is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes. Ataraxy Developers does not receive or read your QR content.
