Screenshots stay on your device

When you request a capture, WholePage Snap reads the selected page’s layout, scrolls it when needed, and captures its visible pixels. Screenshots can include personal information that is visible on the page. All screenshot processing and image stitching take place locally in your browser. Screenshots and browsing content are not uploaded or sent to Ataraxy Developers or an external server by the extension.

The extension does not intentionally collect personal information for the publisher, transmit browsing history, sell browsing content, include analytics or third-party tracking code, or require an account, login or API key.

Temporary local storage

For preview and export, the extension temporarily stores screenshot images in its own browser IndexedDB, along with image dimensions, a sanitized filename, the source hostname, source tab ID, capture mode and creation time. Full page addresses and URL query strings are not stored. Capture progress and preview identifiers are stored in Chrome session storage. Version 1.0.1 has no persistent user settings.

Closing a preview tab removes its screenshot from extension storage. Starting the browser clears the screenshot store. Abandoned screenshots older than 24 hours are removed when a new capture is successfully saved. These cleanup operations occur when Chrome runs the relevant extension code; disabling the extension can delay cleanup. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data.

Downloaded files and images you copy to your clipboard remain under your control. The extension does not delete exported files or clear your clipboard. Other software or services that you choose to paste or upload images into have their own policies.

Access and controls

Access is initiated when you invoke the extension on a page. WholePage Snap does not continuously monitor browsing. It requests activeTab, scripting, offscreen and storage permissions to capture the page, temporarily prepare its layout, process images locally, and show progress. It does not request access to all websites in advance.

You can cancel a capture or remove the extension through Chrome’s extension controls. Chrome restricts capture of certain pages. Clipboard copying is used only when you click Copy image and Chrome permits it.

Website and external links

This policy describes the extension. Visiting the publisher website, Chrome Web Store or an external link is subject to that service’s policies. The publisher website may load its own cookies or measurement tools; those tools are not included in the extension and do not receive screenshots from it.
